Logging by SMS

Logging by SMS

Meal can be recorded in RxFood using photos, text, recent items from your history, or SMS. This article discusses how to log meals using SMS.

To ensure the service works correctly, enter your phone number in the RxFood App under Profile Settings if you haven't already done so (see the image).

Depending on whether you are in Canada or the USA, you may prefer to use a phone number in your respective country. The numbers for SMS logging are provided here, by country:

Notes

Canada: 438-600-4110

USA: 650-383-3663

Send an SMS of your meal, and RxFood will create and enter a meal log for you.

Info
Tip: You can send multiple text entries for the same meal as needed. There are no restrictions in the RxFood app regarding the number of photos or meal entries logged, so you don't need to worry about fitting all items into a single entry. If you have a recipe, enter it separately with the ingredients listed.

Storing the RxFood SMS Number in your Contacts

To facilitate sending SMS entries and ensure clarity in your SMS folder, add a contact with your preferred SMS number. Open your Contacts app and add the phone number above as the mobile number.

Updating the meal later

You may wish to update the meal after it has been sent by SMS. For example, if you logged your lunch later and it was tagged as a snack, open the meal in the app, change it from ‘Snack’ to ‘Lunch,’ and save the changes.
